Bhawanipatna,28 Jan: Under the aegis of Bande Kalahandi,the monthly news magazine , “Malaya Mahefil” , a colourful celebration at the onset of Spring encompassing friends’ get-together and thanksgiving ceremony was organized on 26 Jan 2021 in Pragati Degree college premise. At the outset, apart from tendering thankfulness to the illustrious Italian poets,Emanuel Rizzo and Assoleco zechilithe for translating the poems of Poet Bhawani Shankar Nial into Italian language,the two worthy sons of Kalahandi Er.Ajaya Panda, Chairman,Pragati group of institutions and Sri Bhawani Shankar Nial,poet and editor of Mahuri were honoured for their contributions towards Kalahandi’s enrichment in the realms of education and literature respectively.
To mark the occasion, two literary sessions in terms of Odia and English seminars, the first one on Kalahandi’s contribution towards education and literature, and the other On the poems of Bhawani Shankar Nial were conducted with the active participation of the celebrated speakers of the district-Prof. Lingraj Parts, Prof. Dr.Tapan Ratha, Prof.Gobinda Sahoo, Prof.Satya Narayan Mundchhina, prof. Jagannath Tripathy, Debendra Bishi, senior Journalist, poet Sakit Rate and story writer, Sukanta Sahu. Prof.Bankim Mund and Dileswar Rana, fledgling story writers co-ordinated the English and Odia sessions respectively. Er. Fakir Mohan Majhi, Executive editor of Bande Kalahandi presided over the sessions while Sushil Bag rendered the welcome address. Eventually, Sachin Jain, joint secretary, Bande Kalahandi tendered a vote of thanks. The presence of prof.Sanjeev Ku.Mund, poet Biranchi Mund, prof.Jyotshna Mayee Nail, poet Sudhir Ku. Dh. Majhi, Khusi Ram Sahu, and others raised the occasion to a colourful height.
