AAP MLAs Suspended

New Delhi: The Delhi Assembly witnessed high-voltage drama as 12 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs, including senior leader Atishi Marlena, were suspended by Speaker Vijender Gupta following loud protests over the tabling of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report.

As the session commenced, Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena began addressing the House, only to be met with sloganeering and disruptions from AAP legislators. The protest quickly escalated, forcing the Speaker to take strict action. “Order must be maintained in the House,” Vijender Gupta stated, justifying the mass suspension.

AAP’s Political Frustration?

The ruling party’s dramatic display comes at a time when the BJP has been tightening its grip on Delhi politics. Many political observers believe AAP’s aggressive stance is a sign of growing frustration, especially after recent electoral setbacks. “This is nothing but political theatrics,” a BJP spokesperson commented, calling AAP’s actions a desperate attempt to divert attention.

Meanwhile, AAP leaders defended their protest, accusing the BJP-led central government of misusing agencies and institutions. “This is an attack on democracy,” Atishi said, vowing to continue their resistance.

Delhi Politics Heats Up

The suspension has further intensified the already charged political climate in Delhi. As the AAP-BJP battle rages on, one thing is certain—the Delhi Assembly isn’t short on theatrics. Whether this move benefits AAP or backfires remains to be seen.
