Chennai, July 26 (HS): AIADMK has begun focusing on the forthcoming assembly polls which are still nine months away.CM and Deputy CM of Tamil Nadu, Edappadi K. Palaniswami and O. Pannerselvam have appointed 11 new organising secretaries, three deputy propaganda secretaries and formed three new party districts. All this has been done keeping in mind the forthcoming elections, say sources.
In the current reshuffle many former ministers and legislators have got key posts. Former MLA from Tiruneveli district V. Karuppusamy Pandian is appointed as organising secretary. Besides, party leaders Tiruppur C. Sivasamy, Isakki Subbaiah, M. Budhichandran, T. Rathinavel, V. Marutharaj, P.G. Rajendran, Tirttuani G. Hari, Walajabad P. Ganesan, S. Asaimani and A.K. Seenivasan are also appointed as organising secretary.
Among the Tamil Nadu Ministers, K. Pandiarajan has been promoted as deputy propaganda secretary of the party. Besides, actor Vindhya and ‘Popular’ V. Muthiah are also made deputy propaganda secretaries.MLA of Vedasanthur V.P.B. Paramasivam has been appointed as party’s youth brigade secretary. Former minister T.K.M. Chinnaiya has been appointed as president of MGR Mandram. Party spokesperson R.M. Babu Murugavel is now the joint secretary of advocates wing also.
According to sources, many party districts have been restructured. Many districts have been bifurcated and trifurcated and new secretaries were put in place. Secretaries for 29 districts have been shuffled. Among them are V. Somasundaram (Kanchipuram), Chitlapakkam S Rajendran (Chengalpattu West), KP Kandan (Chennai Rural), Siruniyam P. Balaraman (Tiruvallur north), P. Benjamin (Tiruvallur Central), V. Alexander (Tiruvallur west), Madhavaram V. Moorthy (Tiruvallur East), B.V. Ramana (Tiruvallur West), (K.C. Veeramani (Tiruppathur), C.Ve. Shanmugam (Villupuram), S.P. Velumani (Coimbatore Rural South), Vellamandi N. Natarajan (Trichy Urban), M. Paranjothi (Trichy Rural North), O.S. Manian (Nagapattinam), Natham R. Viswanathan (Dindigul East) and Dindigul C. Seenivasan (Dindigul West).Sources said that few more changes and new appointments will be made in the next couple of days.
