Ingredients
- Simla Mirch (medium size) – 20 pieces
- Boiled potato – 1 large
- Onion (finely chopped) – 1 medium
- Coriander leaves (finely chopped) – 2 tbsp
- Ginger-garlic paste – ¼ tsp
- Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
- Green chilli (fine chopped)- ½ tsp
- Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Maize flour – 180 gm
- Gram flour (besan) – 20 gm
- Turmeric powder – 1 pinch
- Salt – as per taste
- Oil – as required
Preparation Method
- Wash the simla mirch thoroughly and make a slit on one side. Carefully remove the seeds while keeping the mirch intact.
- Mash the boiled potato in a bowl. Add chopped onion, coriander leaves, garam masala powder, green chilli and salt. Mix well to prepare the stuffing.
- Fill each mirch with the prepared potato mixture and keep aside.
- In another bowl, combine maize flour, gram flour, turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, and salt. Add water gradually and prepare a smooth batter of medium consistency.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan/ kadhai .
- Dip each stuffed simla mirch into the batter, ensuring it is evenly coated.
- Carefully place the coated simla mirch into the hot oil and fry on medium heat until golden brown and crisp.
- Remove and drain excess oil on absorbent paper and serve hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup
