Ingredients
- Foxtail Millet Flour – 120 gm
- Ripe Bananas (diced) – 3 nos.
- Palm Jaggery (grated) – 90 gm (Adjust to taste)
- Milk (pre-boiled) – 400 ml
- Cashew Nuts (finely chopped) – 5 gm
- Almonds (finely chopped) – 5 gm
- Chocolate Syrup – 2 tsp (for presentation)
- Green Cardamom Powder – 1 pinch (optional for flavour)
- Ice Cubes – as required (optional)
Method of Preparation
- Heat 300 ml of water in a saucepan and bring it to a boil.
- Gradually add the foxtail millet flour while stirring continuously to avoid lump formation.
- Cook the mixture on low flame for 5–7 minutes until a smooth, porridge-like consistency is obtained.
- Remove from heat and allow the millet porridge to cool completely (to prevent curdling of the milk during blending).
- In a blender, combine the cooled millet porridge, diced bananas, palm jaggery, cardamom powder, and milk.
- Blend to get a smooth, creamy texture. Adjust the consistency by adding additional milk/chilled water (if required).
- For a chilled shake, add a few ice cubes and blend again for a few seconds.
- Drizzle chocolate syrup along the inner sides of the serving glass for an attractive presentation.
- Pour the prepared foxtail millet banana shake into the glass.
- Garnish with chocolate syrup, finely chopped cashew nuts, sliced banana, and almonds, and serve.
