In a recent conversation with journalist Kishore Ajwani, film star Kajol got down to the changing meaning of fame. When asked what her own yardstick for genuine fame was, she said, “Today anyone can become famous. But in my opinion, genuine fame is of those whom I really look up to.” Asked to identify one such person, Kajol hesitated not: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is famous for the right reasons. There are 101 reasons to look up to PM Modi. He’s someone I really look up to.”
Kajol’s unguarded admission highlights the Prime Minister’s rising popularity and the multi-faceted respect that he enjoys from different walks of life. Not every day does a Bollywood veteran pay tribute to a political leader, but when it comes to PM Modi, it appears that exceptions are the rule.
