The Voice of the Forest III Workshop is the best promise of a unique artistic retreat in the peaceful terrains of Jim Corbett, Uttarakhand. Conceptualized and curated by Sambit Panda, this workshop will be held from January 3rd to 6th, 2025, continuing the tradition of inviting eminent artists to create, collaborate, and connect with nature. Beyond an art camp, it is an initiatory process to establish cultural dialogue and explore the concepts of art and environment. Sambit Panda has been continuously organizing this art initiative as a social cause to raise awareness about art within the community.

Concept: Merging Art with Nature

The sound of forest 3 Voices for Nature is based on the idea believed that nature fascinates creativity without boundaries. Be present painted, sketching, sound recorded, photographed, all in the same phase of the beautiful Jim Corbett forest. The workshop aims to:

1. For being a voice to wildlife and environmental conservation.

2. Realizing the collaboration of artists from varied disciplines.

3. Discuss contemporary art practices in public, namely natural heritage.

Why Jim Corbett?

Devbhoomi Uttarakhand-gives birth to the rainforest and affordable provision of excitement-even soothing jungle majesty and beautiful wildlife make it into a perfect studio for creativity. In this context, they vividly accentuate the need to value and conserve our countryside in urbanizing and more environmental challenges.

Features and Activities

In the forest:

1.Trekking: Discover through the thick, narrow trails of the forest.

2. Lantern Walk: The forest is aglow under a starlit sky.

3. Sunrise Point Nature Walk: Dramatic views as the dawn breaks.

4. Jungle safari-This would be entirely optional and subject to availability.

5. Bonfire: Share stories and ideas around a warm bonfire with light music.

At the Resort:

Play-Cricket and Indoor Games: Relax with Chess, Carroms, and a friendly game of cricket.

Artistic Sessions: Resort to painting and drawing inspired by the surrounding wilderness.

Workshop Deliverables

1.Canvas Painting: Artist will prepare their work of art in different mediums through response from nature it may sounds, scenic and surprising elements from nature.

2. On-Site Creation: Participants will be given a canvas on which they will make art during the workshop capturing their impressions of the forest.

3. Photography and Sound Recording: Collecting beautiful images of the forest through photography and sound records will be encouraged.

Post-Workshop Exhibition

All the works produced during this program will be put up on grand exhibition in Delhi and the same will be followed by another in Kalahandi, Odisha. This would establish a link between the two regions-Jim Corbett in Uttarakhand and Karlapat forest in Odisha, bringing together the interrelation between art and environment.
