Bengaluru to Mangaluru travel is about to get a major upgrade! The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Karnataka Public Works Department (PWD) are working on a new expressway that will drastically cut the current 12-14 hour journey to just 5-6 hours. Covering a total distance of 335 km, this expressway will feature 4 to 6 lanes, making the ride faster, smoother, and far less stressful.
For decades, commuters have endured the unpredictable charm of the existing route—narrow roads, landslides, and never-ending traffic. But relief is on the way as this expressway promises efficient connectivity between Karnataka’s capital and its coastal hub. With reduced travel time, businesses, tourism, and trade between the two cities are expected to thrive.
While exact completion dates are yet to be announced, the ambitious project aligns with the government’s broader plan to improve road infrastructure in Karnataka. Once operational, this expressway will redefine long-distance travel in the state, making the journey between Bengaluru and Mangaluru not just faster but finally enjoyable.
