Bengaluru Metro has successfully executed an advanced milestone by bringing its first indigenous driverless train into operation for India on the Yellow Line. Manufactured in West Bengal by Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd. (TRSL), it is such evidence of the development of advanced rail technologies in India.
The Yellow Line, with a stretch of 18 kilometers, connects major popular areas such as Electronics City, a most central tech town in Bengaluru. This driverless train, when operational, would increase the intensity and dependability of metro services, providing commuters state-of-the-art transit experience.
This minister also remarked that this effort has made India the third-largest metro rail network in the world, with the country hoping to leave behind the U.S. soon.
The stainless steel body of the train along with the sophisticated systems of automation speak for India’s adaptation of breakthrough technology in public transportation. Such initiatives will not just catalyze urban mobility but also mirror the success of the ‘Make in India’ campaign, promoting indegenous manufacture and technological advancement.
The new driverless train opened on the Yellow Line is expected to revolutionise travel in the City through the provision of a superior metro service to commuters. A major leap in the public transport infrastructure of the City, the development ensures shorter travel times at improved passenger safety levels.
