Governor Raghubar Das visits Keonjhar district

Bhubaneswar Feb 19,2024: Honorable Governor Raghubar Das visits Keonjhar district .During his visit to Tangarpalasa in Keonjhar district to meet PMAY beneficiaries, Odisha Governor Raghubar Das encountered a poignant scene: a tearful 21-year-old girl, courageously seeking assistance for her paralyzed father. With trembling resolve, she approached him and shared the heart-wrenching story of her unsuccessful attempts to obtain a wheelchair, her voice trembling with emotion.

Moved by their plight, Governor Das swiftly intervened, offering Rs 25,000 to alleviate their immediate hardships. But his compassion didn’t stop there; he promptly directed district officials to expedite the provision of a wheelchair. Additionally, recognizing the urgency of their housing situation, he instructed the district administration to prioritize their inclusion in the PMAY scheme, providing them with a shelter they so desperately needed.

Before meeting with the PMAY beneficiaries in Tangarpalasa, Governor Das toured the Agriculture Production Cluster at Tikarpada, where members of the WSHG had cultivated vegetables over 45 acres. He actively participated in a program alongside WSHG members and farmers, informing them about government schemes available to farmers and encouraging them to avail themselves of these benefits.

During the tour to the district, Governor Das also made an unplanned visit to the Halditangiri government primary school, where he engaged with both students and teachers. He also took the opportunity to visit the Anganwadi center in Halditangiri, where he interacted with the Anganwadi workers and parents. During these interactions, he emphasized the importance of addressing malnutrition and raised awareness about the issue.

Governor Das also extended his reach to the tailor training center at Naranpur, engaging with members of the WSHG. Emphasizing the significance of women’s education, he underscored that education serves as the most potent tool to alleviate poverty. Additionally, Governor Das made a meaningful visit to the primary health center at Baxibarigaon, where he interacted with both medical professionals and patients. This apart, he also made a stop at Ved Vidyalaya in Keonjhar.

Before departing for Mayurbhanj district, Governor Das also visited the Baldev Jew temple in Keonjhar and the revered Ghatagaon Maa Tarini temple, offering prayers.
