Bhubaneswar-(17/05)- The main objective and effort of Bharat Scouts and Guides has always been to develop helpful attitude, skill development and lifelong friendship among students. All these have considerable importance during current time; as Hon’ble Governor Shri Raghubar Das said that it helps in the manifestation of healthy thoughts in a healthy body.
Today at the Odisha State Governor’s Award Ceremony for Bharat Scouts and Guides held at New Abhishek Hall at Raj Bhavan, Scouts & Guides were highly commended by the Governor and Chief Patron Mr. Das, for performing their role in an organized and dedicated manner in the society. The Governor said that the Scouts &Guides programmes have been quite effective in the state. Scouts &Guides are the future of the country. The governor said that through the trainings and experiences, they have gained through this organization, the Scouts & Guides will be raised as responsible citizens of this great country. Further, Mr. Das expressed his confidence that they will have a significant role and contribution in building a prosperous and developed India by 2047, when the independent India will turn 100.Youth has the most important role to play in construction of the developed India. There is a need to provide a conducive environment and opportunities to develop skills for these youth; which organizations like Bharat Scouts and Guides have been providing. Admiring the vision of Lord Baden-Powell, founder of the Scouts and Guides, the governor said thatwe should all feel proud that great men like Mahatma Gandhi are associated with this organization.
On this occasion, the Governor awarded Governor’s Award (Commendation) to Prof.Dr. Manoj Sahu, Commandant Narendra Singh, 41 ITBPBattalion, Khurda and Sri Sri University, Cuttack. In addition, Ganjam District Education Officer Amita Pattanaik was awarded with certificate of association and outstanding contribution to their Scouts and Guides organization. Also, Governor’s Award (Campori) Census and Service Star Proof certificates were given to the qualified person and district by the Governor. Lastly, a total number of 12,499 State Award Certificates were issued to the districts in 52 groups. In this occasion, State Chief Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides Dr. Kali Prasad Mishra delivered the welcome address. Chief Adviser to the Governor, Mr. Santosh Kumar Shatpathy, State Vice President Dr. Minti Behera and State Commissioner Guide Dr. Sipra Nayak were also on the dais. Finally, Scouts and Guides presented fascinating cultural programmes in the presence of a large number of scouts and guides.
