Xavier University, Bhubaneswar is the first University in India to commence its academic session

“After every crisis lies an opportunity”: Dr. Fr. Antony R. Uvari, S.J., Vice Chancellor, Xavier University, Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: XIMB /Xavier University, Bhubaneswar is the first University in India to commence its academic session for the post graduate courses via the virtual mode. The University was also among the first institutions to successfully complete the last academic year on the online platform.

Going ahead, XIMB/ Xavier University, Bhubaneswar successfully held its inauguration and orientation programme for Executive MBA (Batch of 2020-2021), MBA- Business Management, MBA – Human Resource Management and MBA – Rural Management, Batch of 2020-2022 on 3rdAugust 2020 (Monday).

The inaugural ceremony was chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Fr. Antony R. Uvari, S.J., along with the Registrar, Prof. Fr. E.A. Augustine, S.J. and the Deans of the respective schools under the University. The Associate Dean, Admissions Prof. Bikram Kumar Bahinipati presented the student profile of the batches followed by the welcome address by the Registrar, Prof. Fr. E.A. Augustine, S.J., and then the inaugural address delivery by the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Fr. Antony R. Uvari, S.J. and finally the faculty introductions by the Dean, XIMB, Prof. Shridhar Kumar Dash, Prof. Andrew Dutta, Dean, School of Human Resource Management and Prof. S.Peppin ,Dean, School of Rural Management. The inauguration ended with the vote of thanks from Fr. V. Arockia Das, S.J., Financial Controller, XIMB, Xavier University, Bhubaneswar.

Embracing the new normal and welcoming the digital form of education, the University along with its faculty and staff have geared up for this challenge and have suitably equipped themselves with the requisite modes of IT enabled platform to deliver quality education to their students across the country. The University has attempted to upgrade the students with the  learning tools and techniques that shall enable and facilitate them to develop self – directed learning skills and down the line they shall become competent to categorize what they learn, find and use online resources and apply information and data on the problem at hand.

The Vice Chancellor in his speech very rightly pointed out that after every crisis lies an opportunity and the students of the University would be prepared and geared up when the market needs them the most at the end of this pandemicsituation. He emphasized that with team efforts of faculty, staff, students and all the stakeholders of the University, the challenging path ahead will lead to victory and the University and its people shall reach greater heights.
